Celebrating Thanksgiving at HEARTH

Two women set up Thanksgiving dinner for HEARTH's Monday Night Meal

Each year, HEARTH celebrates Thanksgiving with all of the families who rely on us for support, care, and assistance. We do this by taking our weekly Monday Night meal program and adding a seasonal twist to it.

HEARTH’s Monday Night Meal typically offers a community gathering space to all who wish to attend. For Thanksgiving, we partner with Gene Galiardi, the Vice-President PA Commercial Real Estate, Inc. and a member of the Knights Of Columbus.

Gene has collaborated with us for three years straight to help provide food for our families in the form of a proper holiday meal. In his own words, “HEARTH does so much good in the community, we are happy to support their mission because it also aligns with what the Knights of Columbus believes in.”

This year the Knights Of Columbus returned to HEARTH to help prepare 40 Thanksgiving meals for our moms and children. Their feast included:

  • Turkey or chicken with stuffing and gravy
  • Carrots
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Rolls and butter
  • Side salad
  • Cake

All of these goodies were delivered and distributed at our weekly Monday Night Meal program – a perfect way to ring in the holiday week, according to Development Manager Megan Lang:

“Thanksgiving is the perfect time to reflect and be filled with gratitude for those who give to HEARTH’s families. Thank you to all of our community partners and especially to the Knights of Columbus for the delicious Thanksgiving meals so generously provided this season.”
