Diane Bickford knew HEARTH would be a great place to support after touring the space with Harriet Riley, HEARTH’s Volunteer and Administrative Coordinator. “The respect that clients are given,” she said, “is clear in the beautiful and well-cared environment, including the outdoor space and playground.” In the six months, she’s been a volunteer, Diane loves her time with HEARTH’s kids, and also loves building furniture. She’s even happy to break down boxes and take out the garbage, “Anything hands-on!”
Looking ahead, Diane plans to apply her expertise as a professional leadership coach to provide HEARTH parents with skill-building support in job interviewing, emotional intelligence, and conflict negotiation.
