HEARTH’s Monthly Gratitude
February is flying by fast, and HEARTH continues to build its capacity for gratitude. This month, we’re highlighting just a few of our astounding volunteers and donors.
Their willingness to share their gifts, abilities, and resources has strengthened our impact on Pittsburgh families. Read on to see what they’ve done for HEARTH and check back for more monthly gratitudes.
Volunteer Spotlight: Teresa Farls
Teresa has been a volunteer at HEARTH for about two years and is always happy to lend a helping hand. Most recently, she has been working with our Program Outreach Coordinator to develop and improve the HEARTH store.
Corporate Partner Spotlight: Empyrean
Empyrean, a local consulting and professional services company, is one of the reasons why our facilities looked so festive last holiday season. We’re grateful for the beautiful lighted garland, gifts, and monetary donation made possible by employees, and Empyrean’s corporate match.
Hops For HEARTH will take place on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at the historic and innovative Nova Place.
This signature fundraiser combines craft beer and change to make a difference. The craft beer world is known for its charitable community-minded spirit and its genuine care for our families is unsurpassed. Our partnership with many of the local breweries and distributors is what makes our event so unique. We can’t wait to see you there!
Stories of Change
“While going through a breakup with my ex-fiancé, I found myself pregnant with my second child and homeless. I called PA 211, and they pointed me in the direction of HEARTH. The program has helped me gain back my independence. I participated in life skills mentoring and have started working part-time. |
My family has finally found a safe, private environment and the mental clarity to move forward with our lives.” – Mallory Diggs (HEARTH Program Participant) |
