HEARTH has been awarded PHARE funding from the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA)! This support will help us continue providing housing and supportive services to the families that we serve. Thank you, PHFA, for believing in our mission!

Incredible Partnerships

Thanks to our partnership with the Homeless Children’s Education Fund (HCEF), our kids have been enjoying 12 amazing workshops this year, including:

  • Drumming with Dante Mitchell: The kids had a blast learning rhythm and music.
  • Theatre with Daniel Johnson: Our children explored their creativity and self-expression through acting and storytelling.
  • Dance & Movement with Katalina Scott: The kiddos got to experience the essence of dancing and moving your body.

Special thanks to the North Hills Community Baptist Church Youth for organizing a refreshing Water Play Day! The kids had so much fun and we appreciate your involvement in creating such memorable moments.

Thank you to our incredible BNY Mellon volunteers who joined us to clean and organize our outdoor campus and facility. Your hard work and dedication have made a tangible difference in our community, and we appreciate your continued support!

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our CLCV Project Group – Pittsburgh Patriots

We are incredibly grateful to our Community Leadership Course for Veterans (CLCV) Project Group for their outstanding support this summer! Their dedication helped us in so many ways—from creating an in-person childcare training module and volunteering with our kiddos to moving our bike shed to a safer location and securing a fence installation on our property to better protect our children. Their hard work and commitment have made a lasting impact on HEARTH, and we couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with. Thank you, CLCV Pittsburgh Patriots for everything you’ve done to keep our families safe and supported!

Events of the Season

Our HEARTH team is thrilled to announce that our Tees & Traps event was a resounding success! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and supporters, we raised vital funds that will directly benefit the families at HEARTH. Your participation and enthusiasm made this sold-out event truly memorable. We couldn’t have done it without you—thank you for making a difference in our community!

YPB Block Party for HEARTH with Eleventh Hour Brew Co.

Our summer Block Party, hosted by the Young Professionals Board in collaboration with Eleventh Hour Brew Co., was an absolute hit! The event was filled with great music, delicious food, and a fantastic sense of community. Thanks to everyone who attended, we raised significant funds to support HEARTH’s mission. A special thank you to the AHN Chill Mobile Project for joining us to spread the word about the importance of bringing mental health services to our HEARTH kiddos. Your energy and generosity are helping us make a lasting impact!

Back to School with Brentwood Bank

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Brentwood Bank for their incredible support in making this year’s Back to School event a success! Thanks to their generosity, our families are well-prepared for the new school year. We’d also like to thank our amazing partners—Bunsen Bakers for the fun no-bake cookie dough activity, Beverly’s PGH for providing essential personal care items, and the Shaler Township Police for their generous donation of bikes and helmets, along with the bike-riding course for our kids. Your contributions have truly made a difference, and we are so grateful for your continued support!

Stories of impact: How does HEARTH support?

When asked what are some of the best parts of living at HEARTH, we heard:

“The food, clothing, children’s activities, incentives, family support, group activities, playground access, gardening, on-site pantry, clothing, gym, community room, daycare, laundry ”

“My favorite parts are the sense of community among the residents and kids here and also the location. Though you are going through maybe the aftermath of one of the worst seasons in your life. You are not alone and don’t feel judged or looked down upon. Our children get along well and are always happy to see each other. ”

“I can say it’s a perfect place for someone like me and my kids. I get all the help I need when I need it – everyone is here for me and my kids. They provide me with anything we ask or need. It’s a life changing place for my family ”

Make an Even Greater Impact: Here’s How You Can Support

Now that you’ve seen the difference your support makes in the lives of our families, we’d love for you to get involved even more! There are several ways you can help:

  • Volunteer: Offer your time and talents to support our programs.
  • Donate: Your financial contributions directly impact the families we serve.
  • Support our Amazon Wish Lists: Help us provide essential items by purchasing from our wish lists.

Every bit of support counts and helps us continue providing a safe place for families to rebuild their lives. Thank you for being a vital part of HEARTH’s mission!
